There was a bright light surrounding Cheol players returning from the British Nationals, as it reflected from the massive haul of medals they came back with. Our biggest ever team saw 12 players, from yellow tag to black belt, travelling to Crawley at the end of February to compete in individuals, teams and pairs events. The K2 Arena was set up with four rings and over 2 days played host to 450 players from all round the UK, the Isle of Man and even Gibraltar. Our coloured belts performed at their absolute best and 8 players won an astonishing 13 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals across the different divisions. That’s an awful lot of British Champions! Everyone won a medal in every division they entered. Some of our winners In the black belt divisons there was more good news. In his first National Championships as a black belt Peter got into the final in individuals and silver medal in team and on the strength of his performance was invited to join the British squad. Emma also maintained her place on the British Squad, as well as medalling in the team event. Damian was disappointed with his individual performance but bronze medals in pairs and teams helped soothe that. Overall our 13 players won a total of 26 medals, which explains why we are the proud holders of the kup grade team trophy! Well done to all involved. We are also proud that we had three family groups competing and hope that this encourages more mums and dads to come and train with their children – it’s much more fun than waiting outside the class! The whole club together
